Quick Links: Day NurseryWe do not have a day nursery here at The Orchard Children's Centre - details of our parent and child sessions can be found in our current Activities Timetable. Did you know working parents may be eligible for 30 hours funded childcare - a new initiative from the government starting this September? It builds on the offer of 15 hours funded childcare already available to all parents of 3 and 4 year olds. If parents want to start using their extra funded hours this September, they must apply and have their eligibility code by 31 August 2017. Otherwise they won't be able to use their extra hours until January 2018. Parents can find out more and apply through www.surreycc.gov.uk/30hourschildcare or find more information on the website of South Camberley Infant and Nursery School (we are on the site of the James Road Campus). The Family Information Service are an internet, telephone and outreach service providing information, advice and assistance to parents of children and young people. Click here to view the Surrey Information Service. The different forms of childcare are described below:
Approved Childcarers
Home-Based Childcarers Home-based Childcarers are: - Either Childminders, who are self-employed and provide care for between one and six children under 8 years old, in the Childminder's own home,
- Or, are Nannies or Au Pairs who are employed by a family and provide care for children in the family home
Home-based Childcarers may: - Care for additional children aged between 8 and 15 years old
- May drop and pick up children from school or playgroup, and can provide flexible working times for overnight and weekend care
- Accredited Childminders can offer Nursery Education Funded places

Crèche
Crèche
- Provide short term on site care, often based in shopping centres, sport or learning facilities
- Children are cared for while parents attend specific training, sport or leisure facilities
- Most provide care for children aged 0-8 years

Day Nurseries
Day Nurseries
- Are private providers offering care for children from 0-5 years
- Children are cared for in age groups, and take part in a wide range of group activities
- Have fixed opening times, and most are open all year round, excluding weekends
- Accredited nurseries are eligible for Nursery Education Funding
